what is qigong and how does it work?

Qigong (pronounced "chee-GONG") is an ancient Chinese energy healing practice dating back 4,000+ years. It involves cultivating and harnessing the life force energy called "qi".

qi: energy, air, breath, vitality, universal force of life 
gong: work, use, practice, transform, cultivate, refine

This is the practice of learning how energy works in the body and how to balance and cultivate energy, so you can heal yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually.  It's the study of the flow of energy in our body and in nature.

Through gentle movements, breath control, visualization, and focused intention, you can cultivate overall well-being by tapping into this vital energy.
 

How does Qigong Work?

We have 12 major channels in our physical body, which connect to our internal organs. In these 12 channels, six start or end in the hands, and the other six start or end in the feet. These energy channels work together. In addition to these 12 major channels, the body has two more other vital channels; the front and back energy channels, which govern all 12 channels.

When an energy channel is blocked or when energy is stagnant, it may cause discomfort, manifesting in the form of pain or illness with associated organs. It can also cause energy blockages in another part of the body, too.
 

Qigong acts as a catalyst for change and promotes balance and flow--harmonizing the body, mind, and spirit--empowering you to take control of your well-being on all levels. 


What is Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ)?
 

Spring Forest Qigong was created by Master Chunyi Lin, an International Qigong Master from China. It is a modernized yet highly effective from of Qigong that takes you on a transformative journey into self-discovery, self-love, and self-mastery. Who is Master Chunyi Lin?

Master Chunyi Lin, founder of Spring Forest Qigong, has dedicated his life to demystifying and making Qigong accessible to all.
His fluency in numerous Chinese dialects enabled him to study with many of the most respected qigong masters in China. He has been teaching Q
igong and using Qigong techniques to help others for more than twenty years.

While there are thousands of Qigong techniques in China and around the world, many are very difficult to learn and require several years of practice to master. Master Chunyi Lin created "Spring Forest Qigong"to empower others with the vision of “Everyone was born a healer. A healer in every home and a world without pain and suffering.”
